    MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) :  Rich tributes were paid to the pioneer leader of Kashmir freedom movement Quaid-e- Millat Raees ul Ahrar late Ch. Ghulam Abbas on the eve of his 57th death anniversary observed on Wednesday at both sides of the Line of Control including AJK and rest of the world where Kashmiris are settled.

    Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports that Jammu & Kashmir people dwelling either side of the line of control and rest of the world especially activists of All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference Friday observed the 57th death anniversary of the former supreme head of Azad Jammu Kashmir government Quaid-e-Kashmir Raees ul Ahrar Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas with full respect and honour and with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of the departed Kashmiri leader till the liberation of the occupied part of the Jammu Kashmir state from Indian subjugation and materialize the dream of accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan.

    It was the gazetted holidary throughout AJK on Wednesday to facilitate the people to participate in the programs held to mark death anniversary of the departed Kashmiri leader – since the day is observed every year as state holiday to pay tributes to the veteran departed Kashmir freedom struggle icon throughout Azad Jammu & Kashmir on this occasion.

    Quran Khawani was held in various parts of AJK territory, occupied state and various parts of Pakistan for the departed soul. Special meetings were held at almost all AJK districts including Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bhimber, Bagh, Sudhanoti and Rawalakot to pay glorious tributes to late leader for his remarkable services for the Kashmir freedom movement.

    Addressing the special gatherings to mark the day, speakers paid rich tributes to the founder leader of the Kashmir freedom movement coupled with renewal of the pledge and determination to follow his foot prints for the completion of his mission of the liberation of occupied Jammu Kashmir state from the Indian tyrannical rule. They also renewed the pledge to continue the ongoing struggle for freedom of occupied Jammu Kashmir from Indian unlawful occupation and achievement of their right of self determination till the achievement of the final victory.

    In Mirpur, a prayer meeting was held here early Wednesday morning to pray for the rest of the departed soul in eternal peace besides to mark the death anniversary of Ch. Ghulam Abbas was held under the auspices of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference.

    Speakers including the central Vice President All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference Raja Zaffar Maroof and others vowed to continue the mission of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas to get occupied land of Jammu & Kashmir from Indian clutches and translate the idea of accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan in to reality.

    Major ceremony to observe the day was held, at the mausoleum of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas at Faizabad Rawalpindi Wednesday under the auspices of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference.


    Addressing the ceremony speakers including Ch. Yaseen of PPP AJK, ex AJK Prime Ministers Sardar Tanveer Illayas and Sardar Attique Khan, Ghulam Muhammad Safi of APHC, Raja Yaseen of PML (N), Mrs. Meher un Nisa, Secretary General of Muslim Conference, Shakoor Mughal of Muslim Conference and others said Pakistan was incomplete without its jugular vein-Kashmir. They said that the mission of the pioneers of the Kashmir freedom movement could be translated into reality only if we sincerely act upon their sayings and foot prints with a fresh and renewed determination to achieve the destination.

    Speakers called for early settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Jammu & Kashmir people and to ensure the emergence of ever-lasting and durable peace in South Asia .

    Speakers vehemently condemned the continued New Delhi-sponsored state terrorism being perpetrated against the innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir state to suppress their struggle for liberation from the long Indian rule.

    They called upon the world community especially the super forces and international forums besides the world coalition against terrorism to immediately intervene to get the Indian state terrorism stopped in occupied Jammu Kashmir and to ensure the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue for the early grant of the much-awaited right to self determination to the Kashmiri people through brining the Kashmiris indigenous struggle for freedom to its logical end, they added.

    A large number of people including the Muslim Conference activists from various parts of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan visited the mausoleum of late Ch. Ghulam Abbas in Rawalpindi and offered fateha for the departed soul besides offering special prayer for the early success of the Kashmir freedom movement and accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan
